Welcome back to ILV on the hour. I'm Ladar Lazi coming to you live from Israel with all of the recent updates from out of the region. Here are the latest developments. We open this hour with news of a terror attack. One person was killed and five others wounded just a short while ago in a series of shootings in the Shaon region north of central Israel. One terrorist has been identified as Omar Yasin from the nearby Arab-Israeli city of Tybee. He was neutralized by security forces at the scene. A manhunt was then launched for the second terrorist. As of now, both terrorists have been either apprehended or killed. The terrorist on the run was believed to have escaped into the community of Tsulk and Homefront command sounded sirens in the vicinity to warn residents to stay at home. What we know so far is that the attacks took place at multiple locations near the communities of Tsuritak and Kavia. They are located northeast of Tel Aviv. The first location was at a gas station in Kavia where emergency services and police were called to the scene and treated two men with gunshot wounds. Another victim was later located on the side of the road uh in the same area and another victim was found near the entrance to Tsur Itak. As we said, this is an ongoing event. There are currently large police forces spread throughout the Taib area area near andak areas. Security forces have already reportedly reached the home of one of the terrorists and are conducting operations there, but police have not yet released all the details on the suspected terrorists and we will of course continue to update as we receive new information. So joining us now with more on the terror attacks today is Ranan Dan, a United Hatah paramedic who was at the scene. Ranan, thank you so much for joining us. >> Hi, good afternoon. >> So at around >> at around 10:14 a.m. our dispatch center received report of shooting attack at a gas station near the entrance to Kavia. I happened to be only a few minutes from the scene and I immediately respond. Um the United Salah empties and paramedic arrive arrived quickly in a large numbers to assist the security forces and other emergency emergency responders. As we begin treating the casualties and reassessing the the situation, it became more clear that it is not a insulated incident and that were more additional sins involved. Tragically, one person was killed in the attack and the five runner was injured ranging from mild to serious conditions. Our prior priority was to provide immediate medical care, stabilize the wounded and assist the evacuation of the casu casualties while working alongside with the police and the military rescue forces. >> And I mean, you described really the scene, but you arrived at the gas station. uh can you share with us perhaps what you saw when you first arrived and and how you you know how and when did you realize that it indeed was a multiple uh scene uh event. >> So when I was arrived it was two injured people at the gas station uh that would already uh was treated by the emergency forces. I started to managing the scenes and with long the the dispatch I was receiving more datas that there is another shots in the junction of Suratan >> and that's when you realized that this was an ongoing event. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And at the gas station I mean you you mentioned there were two people with gunshot wounds. What were the conditions of the victims when you last saw them? >> Um, they were there were shots. Sorry. The people the gas station was uh heavily shots and they were evacuated to the hospital when they're not stabilized. >> Mhm. And from the from the gas station, I mean, did you go to the other scenes as well or were you just at the gas station today? >> No, no. As a commander, I I stayed at the scene. >> Mhm. >> And with a phone of the dispatch, I received data from the other scenes and by that I multiply the forces. >> Mhm. So there were a great deal of forces uh at at the gas station and the rest of the scenes, the victims evacuated to the hospital. Ranan, I mean this is um a very a very serious, very critical and tragic event. You know, we've seen uh events like this too many times here in Israel. Um you know, what more can you tell us about this event? Was it sort of uh something unusual that you that you saw there or or did you know and security services I understand responded very quickly uh and were able to bring uh the victims very quickly to the hospital for urgent care but is there anything more that you can share with us? >> Yeah, so we knew already at the scene that it was two people driving in a car and started shooting at the gas station. >> Mhm. And then they continue driving to the Tsunatan junction. Over there they shot more people and as we are the scene we heard that there's another scene that in a settlement called Salit. So all the time the there was another receiving reports that there is another sin. So, it was really just a continuing and and as of right now, uh, you know, from what we understand, the event has concluded and they've neutralized the terrorist or apprehended the terrorist. Is that what what you've heard as well? >> As far as I know, one of the terrorists was killed at the scene >> and the other one was uh captured. >> Yeah, absolutely. All right. Anan Dan, thank you so much for joining us and for really the life-saving work that you've done today and always are doing at United Salah. Thank you. >> Thank you. Good afternoon. >> And now we turn to Professor Shah Shyel, head of the emergency department at Khaled Bellinsson Hospital. Are you with us? Great. Thank you so much for joining us. Uh we understand that some of the victims were brought to the hospital. What can you tell us now uh about their condition? >> Okay, so two gunshot victims came to the hospital with a in a moderate condition. One suffered from a gunshot wound in his upper limb and the other gunshot wound in his back. H they were stable in a moderate condition and they were transferred to the oper operating room for surgery. >> Mhm. And right now are they in surgery or has the surgery concluded? They're still in surgery. It's ongoing. >> Yeah, they're still in surgery. >> But they're expected to make a they're expected to make a full recovery. >> Uh I hope but yes, this is the in the moment. This is the belief. >> Mhm. And and you know, we heard uh from Ran just a few moments ago that the that initially there were two people shot at the gas station. Are those the two victims that arrived uh at your hospital? We don't know yet. We don't know yet. We think to which came for us or we'll see it after that. There was another gunshot wounded victims that came to another to another hospital in a area. And can you perhaps give, you know, uh, our audience, our viewers a better understanding, you know, when events like this do occur, when there's, you know, a a a terror attack, uh, you know, gunshot wounds. I mean, what happens from the moment that you hear that there's an event until they they arrive to the hospital? I mean, can you walk us through a little bit about the procedure at the hospital and and what you do to prepare to receive these victims? >> Yes, of course. So the moment the message is coming all the trauma teams and all the surgery teams um in they are coming for to the emergency department the trauma units and then they are preparing for the the victims and also social workers and all the preparation for those victims. H then we triage them and we make a first survive of them to see where is the injured and to see if they are stables stable and to stable their condition if it we they need blood or they need something else. Then if they are stable enough we are they are going through the city to imagine to see what really the nature of these gunshot wounds and then if they needed they go to operating room for surgery. >> So really a a detailed complex preparation to receive the victims. We understand that as you said they're in surgery now and we of course pray and hope that they'll uh make a full recovery. Professor Shahakov Shyel, thank you so much for joining us. >> You're welcome. >> And as we said, this is still an ongoing event. So if uh we receive any more updates, we will of course uh continue to share. And moving on now to the top stories of today in the region. The IDF announced that two IDF soldiers have been killed in separate incidents in southern Lebanon over the past 2 days. Captain Shakar Gamla, 23 years old, a deputy team commander in the IGO unit of the commando brigade from Natul in the Golan Heights succumbed to wounds sustained Thursday in azbala drone attack. In a separate incident Friday, Sergeant Ohady Ari, 21 years old of the Givati Brigade's Shaed Battalion from Lovot, was killed by what the IDF described as a suspected accidental firearm discharge during operations in southern Lebanon. Since the so-called ceasefire in Lebanon went into effect, 18 soldiers have fallen in various incidents across southern Lebanon and along the Lebanese border. Meanwhile, warfare is continuing to intensify. The IDF says it carried out a wave of strikes against Hezbala targets across southern Lebanon over the weekend. According to the military, some 150 Heisbala infrastructure sites were targeted, including weapons depots, command centers, rocket launchers, and other military facilities. The strikes come as the IDF issued new evacuation warnings for several villages. Now over the weekend, Kuzzbala continued drone attacks towards Israeli forces and border communities. Four IDF reservists were moderately wounded by an explosive laden drone launched by Kazbala in southern Lebanon. The military added that it will continue to act against operatives and infrastructure throughout southern Lebanon. And of course, today we saw attempts at rocket fire into Israel from Lebanon. And reports indicate uh here in Israel that Prime Minister Bin Net Netanyahu is giving diplomatic efforts in Lebanon more time. While IDF Chief of Staff Aal Zamir reportedly told ministers that if a ceasefire is to be reached, it is better to secure it now rather than fight for another month only to accept similar terms later. this as Lebanese President Joseph Aoon has accused Iran of using Lebanon as a bargaining chip in its talks with the United States, saying Lebanese citizens are paying the price for Iranian interests. Aoon called on both Israel and to choose diplomacy over war. Let's hear what he had to say. >> Prime Minister Netanyahu and Hezbollah, they have to understand that they are waging a futile war. The strategy that they are following is shortsighted, counterproductive, and believe me, it will never lead uh uh to to the desired outcome. War, it's a bloody negotiation whereas negotiation is a bloodless war. We have a great opportunity to end the state of hostility between Lebanon and Israel. We have a great opportunity for both the Lebanese and the Israeli people to live in in in safety and security. They are both I think fed up with war since 1948. This is a huge opportunity. So both they have to choose war or negotiation or diplomacy. The conflict between the United States and Iran escalated over the weekend with American forces striking Iranian radar sites and Tehran responding by launching ballistic missiles towards Gulf states. US Central Command wrote on its exac account that American forces remain postured and ready to continue defending against Iranian aggression. Sentcom says it targeted coastal surveillance radar installations in southern Iran after intercepting four Iranian attack drones that were threatening shipping in the straight of Hormuz. According to Sentcom, all four drones were shot down. Iranian state media said the drones were part of what it called a warning operation. While the Revolutionary Guard later claimed responsibility for launching ballistic missiles towards Kuwait and Bahrain. The exchange marks the latest flash point as the war between the United States, Israel, and Iran reaches its 100th day mark, even as diplomatic efforts to reach a nuclear agreement continue. And that's all with the time we have at this hour. I'm Lear Lazi. Thanks for watching.
